À Montréal, le 5 octobre 2016, à l’âge de 63 ans est décédé M. Jacques Therrien. La famille accueillera parents et amis pour lui rendre un dernier hommage le samedi 5 novembre de 13h à 17h à Actuel Services Funéraires au 4500 rue Verdun à Verdun. Une cérémonie de la Parole aura lieu à 16h au salon.

1939 – 2016
It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of George Robert Light on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 in Montreal. Born of Irish and Quebec descent on May 25th, 1939, George was the youngest and last survivor of 8 siblings. Predeceased by his father Henry Light and mother May Campbell sisters and brothers, Kay, Amie, Maggie, Maisie, Harry, Frank, Ken and Shirley.
Raised in Dufferin Square, George started working in 1957 at the age of 17 at The Montreal Star in the Delivery Department and was a mobile driver. In 1975 he took a leave of absence to work full time as Director of the Montreal Newspaper Guild and later become President of The Montreal Star Union, until 1979 when The Star folded.
He continued to be a huge part of the Newspaper business, as primary distributor for the Montreal Gazette for many years.
George was at one time very involved with the Irish community, having been one of the past Presidents of the Erin Sports Club Association and took part in many of the events with the United Irish Societies of Montreal.
In the early 90’s George, found himself working as Director of the Old Brewery Mission, until he was fortunate to find himself a position closer to his family working as Security for Côte St. Luc’s Fairway House. Retiring at the age of 75 in 2014, George still looked after many of the residents of Fairway House until the very end.
He leaves to mourn, his loving daughter, Kathleen (Kevin), his grandchildren, Brendhan, Liam, Matthew, Shauna (Marcel), Kaitlin and Brittany and his great-grandchildren Milo, Hailey and James, as well as his ex-wife Barbara (Earl) and many nieces and nephews as well as the residents of Fairway House, they were his family.
Family will receive condolences on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 from 1 to 5 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. a service will be held at 3:00 pm the same day at the funeral home.
In Montreal on October 04, 2016 at the age of 77, Frank Ralph Veltri passed away surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his daughters Melanie (Wayde), Angela (Justin), Sabrina , Jennifer and Kayla (Corey), his sons Sammy (Lina) and Joey, his grandchildrens Ayden, Alyssa, Brianna, Tallia and Rayna, Shayla, Chloe, Rebecca as well as Corrina, Brendon, Nathan and Dylan He will also be missed by many friends and family.
The family will receive condoleances at Actuel Funeral Service (4500 Verdun St., Verdun QC, H4G 1M3) on Thursday October 6. 2016 from 1pm to 5pm and a funeral service will be held at 7pm followed by a reception. Flowers are welcome.
